A huge congratulations goes to Chillika, right here on Bexleyheath Broadway, after being named London’s top curry restaurant at the 2026 English Curry Awards. The achievement has even caught the attention of Time Out London, putting our town centre firmly on the capital’s foodie map! 🌶️🏆
Bringing the flavours of Odisha to Bexleyheath
Located at 195 Broadway, Bexleyheath, Chillika takes its inspiration from the flavours of Odisha in eastern India, combining traditional influences with the colour, energy and excitement of Indian street food.
Founded by Subhakanta Das and Partha Sarathi Panda, the restaurant takes its name from India’s famous Chillika Lake. Diners can discover everything from sizzling tandoori chicken to rich goat curry – and now those flavours have earned the restaurant some serious recognition! 😋🔥
A big win at the English Curry Awards 🏆
Now in its 15th year, the English Curry Awards celebrate outstanding chefs, restaurants and takeaways from across England. The 2026 winners were announced at an awards ceremony at Grand Station in Wolverhampton on 10 August, with Chillika taking the London crown.
It’s a wonderful achievement for the Chillika team and another proud moment for Bexleyheath Town Centre. 💚
Bexleyheath is becoming quite the curry hotspot! 🌶️
Even better, this isn’t the first time our town has received national recognition for its Indian food.
At the 2025 English Curry Awards, Bexleyheath’s Masala Inn was named London’s top curry house. This year, Masala Inn was recognised once again, receiving an Outstanding Award.
