The highly anticipated Bexleyheath High Street Awards is back for its second year, shining a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of local businesses amidst unprecedented challenges. 

Since its launch in 2022, the awards have become a symbol of resilience and excellence, recognising the tireless efforts of entrepreneurs and innovators who are driving the local economy forward.

Over the past 12 months, businesses on the high street have faced significant headwinds, navigating rising operational costs and changing consumer preferences. Despite these obstacles, the businesses of Bexleyheath have persevered and adapted, finding creative ways to engage with customers and deliver exceptional products and services.

This year's awards ceremony promises to be a celebration of these achievements, with categories ranging from "Best Customer Service" to "Bexleyheath’s Business of the Year". 

Through this recognition, the Bexleyheath High Street Awards aims to encourage and inspire local businesses to continue to innovate and excel in the years to come.

"We're thrilled to be back for a second year to celebrate the hard work and amazing resilience of the businesses on the Broadway. We have had so many fantastic entries, the judges faced a tough decision in finding their winners!" said Caron Linyard, Bexleyheath BID Manager. 

"These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the area's top businesses, and we're excited to celebrate their achievements." 

The Bexleyheath High Street Awards seeks to find real joy and passion in the local high street and showcase business owners and brands that make Bexleyheath High Street so special. The awards took place on Tuesday 25th April, and celebrated winners across several categories. 

The categories and winners include:

Winner of Best Independent Business - Mrs P's Hair

Winner of Best Independent (+10 yrs) - Bradley's Jewellers

Winner of Best Customer Service - Hays Travel

Winner of Best Employer - Bell'Amore Bridal Store

Winner of Love your Local (Public Vote) - The Kings Arms

Winner of Best Employee - Jude Simms, Anytime Fitness

Winner of Commitment to Community - Ken & Di Sprowles, The Royal British Legion

Winner of Business of the Year - Bell'Amore Bridal Store

Bexleyheath is proud of its bustling high street and is known for its vibrant community of independent and local businesses. These awards recognise local businesses that have made significant contributions to the community and demonstrated exceptional service and quality. Award nominees were selected by a panel of judges, including local business leaders and community members.

Deputy Mayor & Councillor Rags Sandhu, who presented an award, said :

"At a time when High Streets and shopping areas are suffering nationally, the fact that our High Street in Bexleyheath is one of the best in the country is a real achievement. Credit goes to ALL of our retailers, outlets and of course our residents who continue to support our shopping area with the support of the Business Improvement District. These awards show the diversity, passion and sheer professionalism offered to the resident of Bexleyheath through our retail network - You Are All Winners!"

The Bexleyheath High Street Awards are a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the hard work and dedication of local businesses. A fantastic awards ceremony proved to be both a celebration of progress and an incentive for continued support and growth of Bexleyheath's economy.

Attendees at the Bexleyheath High Street Awards ceremony featured live entertainment with a superb dining experience hosted at Signature | Dining by Pure. The evening offered the opportunity to network with fellow business owners and community members.

The Bexleyheath High Street Awards are a testament to the community's commitment to supporting and promoting local businesses and strengthening the town's economy.

Bexleyheath BID is working to support local high street businesses to maximise their potential, with the  Bexleyheath High Street Awards the culmination of everyone’s hard work.
